Cookies and Storage Notice
This notice explains how aigms.uk uses cookies, browser storage and similar technologies to provide website, shopping, payment and AIGMS™ Adviser functions.
Version 1.0 · Effective 15 September 2026
1. What this notice covers
Cookies are small text files stored by a browser. Similar technologies, including session storage and local storage, can also store or access information on your device. UK rules apply to these technologies whether or not the information is personal data.
We use storage technologies where they are needed to provide requested website functions, protect the service, maintain a shopping basket, support checkout and payments, or operate the AIGMS™ Adviser.
2. AIGMS™ Adviser session storage
Storage item: aigms_v4_client_id
Type: browser session storage
Purpose: creates a random temporary session identifier used to apply message-rate limits and help prevent automated abuse of the AIGMS™ Adviser.
Duration: the browser session. It is not designed to persist as a long-term cross-site identifier.
Advertising or tracking: it is not used for advertising, behavioural profiling or cross-site tracking.
Messages typed into the Adviser are sent to our server and processed to generate the response requested. The Privacy Policy explains the personal-data processing associated with the Adviser.
3. Essential WooCommerce storage
Our online shop uses WooCommerce. When you use basket, checkout or related store functions, WooCommerce may set first-party cookies needed to keep the shopping session working.
| Technology | Typical duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
woocommerce_cart_hash | Session | Helps WooCommerce recognise when basket contents or data change. |
woocommerce_items_in_cart | Session | Helps WooCommerce recognise when basket contents or data change. |
wp_woocommerce_session_… | Typically 2 days for a guest session | Contains a unique customer session code so WooCommerce can locate basket data held by the store. |
woocommerce_recently_viewed | Session, if the feature is used | Supports the WooCommerce recently viewed products feature. |
store_notice[notice id] | Session, if a store notice is used | Remembers that a visitor dismissed a WooCommerce store notice. |
4. Payment and fraud-prevention technologies
We use Stripe for supported online payments. Stripe may set cookies or similar technologies when its payment and fraud-prevention services are loaded or used.
| Technology | Typical duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
__stripe_mid / _stripe_mid | Up to 1 year | Fraud prevention and transaction-risk assessment. |
__stripe_sid / _stripe_sid | About 30 minutes | Fraud prevention and transaction-risk assessment during a payment session. |
| Stripe session storage, where used | Session | Security, fraud prevention, authentication or payment functionality. |
Stripe may update the technologies used by its services. You can find more information in Stripe's privacy and cookie information.
5. Do we use advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies?
We do not use the AIGMS™ Adviser session identifier for advertising, behavioural profiling or cross-site tracking.
If we introduce non-essential analytics, advertising or tracking technologies in the future, we will update this notice and obtain consent where required before those technologies are used.
6. Consent and strictly necessary storage
Some storage technologies are necessary to provide a service you request, protect the website, prevent fraud, maintain a basket or complete a payment. Where the law permits an exception for that strictly necessary use, we do not ask for consent simply to operate that function.
If a storage or access technology is not covered by an applicable exception, we will obtain any consent required before using it.
7. Browser controls
You can use your browser settings to view, block or delete cookies and stored website data. Blocking strictly necessary technologies may prevent basket, checkout, payment or AIGMS™ Adviser functions from working correctly.
8. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice when website functions, plugins, payment services or storage technologies change. The version and effective date at the top show the current published notice.
